My approach to overlanding isn’t about building the biggest or toughest rig.
It’s about taking a stock, high-mileage Volvo XC70 and learning how to travel reliably, comfortably, and sustainably with it.
The XC70 isn’t a rock crawler — and that’s the point. Routes are chosen carefully, gear is added slowly, and every change has to earn its place.
Backroads, forest roads, and remote camps
Simple sleep setups instead of permanent builds
Gear that can be removed, repaired, or replaced
Trips planned around weather, terrain, and recovery time
Living with a disability means reliability matters more than capability.
The XC70 allows me to travel independently, carry what I need, and adapt when plans change — without overcomplicating the build.
